Bev came to see us under ERDF provision in August 2019 to discuss her business plans, she is director of Collaborative VA Services Limited. Offering remote/freelance services as a Personal Assistant and Business Support Manager, also known as Virtual Assistant. Started to operate November 2019 after support from Enterprise Made Simple.
Bev had set up the limited company and started a very basic business plan but lacked knowledge of how to fully complete, and was therefore not able to operate/trade this point (August 2019). After an initial discussion with a business advisor, Bev was set a to-do list and went away to work through the points on that: working on legal documents, marketing, offer, etc. As Bev felt she needed the basics of how to set up a business, she attended our ‘Primed For Starting Up’ workshops prior to a second meeting with her business advisor.
In writing the business plan, understanding what content needed, how to create a cashflow and P&L. Needed guidance on the basics of marketing. Had little knowledge in these areas.
With a tailored combination of one-to-one and one-to-many training and mentoring, we helped Bev navigate her obstacles and produce a full written business plan, as well as providing a range of networking opportunities and introducing her to a barrage of contacts to help her move forward.
Putting together a full business plan with P/L and cashflow projections for 12-months. The plan has been shared with Bev’s Business Relationship Manager at NatWest who gave positive feedback. Bev is now confidently trading and has taken on her first retained client.
It has helped the business understand its current position and keep a close eye on cashflow. Client quote ‘it has given me so much more confidence to go out and promote my business’
Bev is due to attend workshop provision under the ‘early stage’ funding through ERDF to allow her to further cement her learning and start to work on gaining more depth of knowledge to drive her business. Bev’s aim is to create a workbook of 25 billed hours per week for clients.
