Course Overview
This hands-on course is built for people who want to feel more capable, efficient, and in control when using everyday workplace technology. Whether you’re returning to work, changing roles, or running your own business, you’ll develop practical digital skills that make a real difference.
Across four face-to-face sessions and two guided remote learning activities, you’ll work through realistic, project-based tasks that cover the core tools used in most jobs: word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, and general IT systems. You’ll learn by doing—applying skills to tasks that reflect real-world situations and challenges.
This course is ideal if you’ve had little formal training with computers but have some basic experience. You’ll gain the confidence to choose the right tools, work more efficiently, and deliver polished, professional results—whether that’s a well-formatted document, a clean spreadsheet, or a clear publication layout.
What To Expect
Across four practical sessions, you’ll get comfortable with the tools you use at work every day. We’ll guide you through creating tidy documents, simple spreadsheets that do the maths for you, and polished layouts for posters or reports. You’ll practise safe file management, shortcuts that save time, and clear formatting so your work looks professional. Each lesson is hands-on with friendly support, plenty of examples, and step-by-step tasks you can repeat at home or in the office. By the end, you’ll feel steady on the keyboard, confident clicking around menus, and able to complete common tasks without second-guessing yourself.
